What are some good import cars?

I need to get a cheap import car that's good on gas. I found lots of 1991,1992 and 1993 skylines for sale here in Toronto. I found a 1992 skyline, 5 speed manual, 4 wheel drive twin turbo so is this any good? Any idea on any other import I could get? Your help is greatly appreciated :)
